Truck fire on highway slows down traffic

A truck caught fire on the Augusta Highway near Napperby, just outside Port Pirie, on Friday.

Police and fire crews were called to the scene about 7.45am.

No-one was injured and the fire was extinguished.

Fire crews believe the fire was caused by a mechanical fault.

The truck was carrying cargo goods wrapped in plastic.

Fortunately, not all of the cargo was damaged.
