Whyalla will be hosting a soccer carnival for players from around regional South Australia this Saturday, April 24, with teams from Port Lincoln, Port Pirie, Coober Pedy and Northern areas competing.
The carnival will give male and female players a chance to challenge themselves against their regional counterparts and be an important part of the overall development of the young players.
During the Covid-19 interrupted season in 2020, the season was necessarily shortened and State and Country Championships were cancelled.
This prevented young regional players from experiencing the challenge of playing the best young players from around the state and to be selected for elite pathway programs.
The Whyalla regional carnival will be a good opportunity for male and female players in junior age groups to represent their respective towns and to rise to the challenge of tough competition, while showcasing to spectators the brightest and best that their town and the region has to offer.
The Whyalla Junior Soccer Association prioritises the development of the junior players in our association.
The carnival will provide the young people from regional South Australia with an opportunity to prepare themselves for the upcoming championships, where they will be observed by development coaches
