The Port Pirie Regional council has clarified report coverage in the Recorder about the Federal Hotel upgrade work.
Council said it wishes to advise that consistent with the legislation, Development Applications have not been referred to elected members for decision for a number of years.
Council said the Development Application for works relating to the Federal Hotel will not be referred to the Elected Council body at the upcoming ordinary council meeting on Wednesday, October 28.
As per the legislation, the application is in the process of being assessed by council planners.
Once assessed the application will either be referred to the council assessment panel if required, or the council delegate for decision.
Council said it will be asked to consider a request received from the Federal Hotel to amend the land use zone applicable to the hotel's operation.
