A woman has died following a crash at Bungama near Port Pirie last night.
Shortly after 8pm on Sunday, September 20, police were called to the intersection of Warnertown Road and the Augusta Highway after reports of a crash between a Toyota sedan and a semi-trailer.
The driver of the Toyota, a 21-year-old Magill woman sadly died at the scene. Her passenger, a 25-year-old man from Glynde, was taken to the Port Pirie hospital before being airlifted to the Flinders Medical Centre. His injuries are not considered to be life threatening. The truck driver was not injured.
Major Crash Investigators attended the scene to examine the circumstances surrounding the crash.
The Augusta Highway was reopened to traffic at about 6am this morning.
The woman's death is the 67th life lost on SA roads this year compared with 80 at the same time last year.
