Pirie man wins $50,000 on Keno

A Port Pirie man is $50,000 in pocket after his weekly routine of grabbing a Keno entry while running errands scored him a big windfall.

The "stoked" man who wished to remain anonymous purchased his winning Keno Spot 8 entry at the Pirie Plaza Newsagency.

An official from the Lott contacted the winner, who revealed he watched his winning numbers appear on screen one-by-one.

"It feels great to have scored $50,000," he said.

"I play my tickets every week when I go into town to run errands.

"I was still in the newsagency when the draw played up on the screen so I got to see my numbers come out.

"I couldn't believe it."

When asked how he planned to enjoy his big win, the happy winner said he would put it to good use.

"I'll probably use it to pay a few bills before putting the rest into savings," he said.

The man's Keno Spot 8 winning entry was in draw 2649149 on Wednesday, July 29.
