Pair to face court after series of break-ins and theft in Mid North

Police have arrested a man and woman following an investigation into a series of break-ins and thefts in the Mid North.

Around May 17 to 24, police allege rural properties near Jamestown were broken into and items stolen.

Following investigations, police attended a house in Jamestown and recovered a large amount of antiques.

A 51-year-old woman from Jamestown and a 42-year-old man from Peterborough were arrested and charged with theft and unlawful possession.

The pair have been bailed to appear in the Port Pirie Magistrates Court in October.

Police also searched two other properties where they allegedly found a prohibited weapon at one and an amount of cannabis at another.

A 32-year-old woman from Jamestown was reported for possession of a prohibited weapon, and a 45-year-old woman from Peterborough was reported for cannabis possession.

Both will be summonsed to appear in at court at a later date.
