Police detected a drug driver last Thursday morning before finding a passenger in the car in possession of drugs.
Just after 9.30am on Thursday, September 5, a 39-year-old woman from Port Pirie was stopped driving a Toyota hatch on Osborne Street.
The woman was submitted to a roadside drug test which returned positive to methamphetamine.
The sample will be sent for forensic testing and once completed the woman may be summonsed to appear in the Port Pirie Magistrates Court.
The woman was issued with a driver direction notice preventing her driving for 24 hours.
Police conducted a search of the vehicle and its occupants and made a further find.
A 37-year-old man from Port Pirie, who was a passenger in the vehicle, was in possession of methamphetamine.
He was reported for possessing a controlled drug and will be summonsed to appear in the Port Pirie Magistrates Court at a later date.
