Police are investigating the stabbing of a 30-year-old man who was walking in the vicinity of Desteno Street on Sunday, July 21.
The man presented at the local hospital with a single stab wound on the left side his chest, police were later called to the same hospital.
Police attended around 8.30pm and were told by the injured man that around he was walking on Desteno Street at around 6.30pm when two men, described of being of Aboriginal appearance, demanded he hand over money.
The victim told the men he did not have any money and one of the suspects stabbed him. They then fled on foot.
He was treated at the Port Pirie Hospital and flown to the Royal Adelaide Hospital with a punctured lung in a serious, but stable condition.
