Port Pirie Junior Soccer Association's Under 12 team had a thrilling victory to take out the State Championship Title in its division at the State Country Championships held at West Beach in June.

The team, coached by Vincent DeGioia, had a stunning 7-0 win over Limestone Coast to take out the title.

Leading the goalscorers, and following in his father's footsteps as a talented soccer player, Jack DeGioia booted four goals for the team and was followed by Baylin Crouch, Hayden Farinola and Lucas Taylor.

The championship win was the first for Port Pirie in many years, and the players were excited to bring the silverware back home.

The association also sent a development team as well as teams in Under 13 boys and girls, Under 14 boys and Under 16 boys and girls to the tournament.

All teams were competitive and represented Port Pirie with great sportsmanship and skill.

The association will now prepare to host the State Country Championships in Port Pirie in September, with games to be played at the Senate Road Sports Complex and the Memorial Oval Sporting Precinct.
