Players from two local leagues in country footy squad

Reigning Recorder Medallist Jordan Fuller is among footballers who shone for Northern Zone at the South Australian Country Championships in Port Pirie at the weekend.

He is among 33 players named by the SANFL in the SA Country squad to take on Western Australian Country at Optus Stadium in Perth on Saturday, July 27.

The extended squad was chosen after the championships.

The squad includes all 25 players in the Team of the Championships as well as an extra eight who caught the eye of selectors.

A final team of 22 players will be unveiled on Monday after the upcoming round of country league matches this weekend with the team departing for Perth on Friday.

The extended squad features nine players from the championship-winning Central Zone and seven from runner-up Northern Zone.

Fuller, who plays for Lions in the Spencer Gulf League, was chosen along with Northern Areas Football Association's Dylan Hewett, of Broughton-Mundoora; Lukas Kangur, of BMW; Brad Eagle, of Crystal Brook; and William Combe, of Crystal Brook

South Augusta's Gary Warren and Kriston Thompson were also picked.

Players included from Central Zone are Tyson Irlam - Willaston; Thomas Phelps - Paskeville; Leigh Ryswyk - Barossa District; Giles Ellis - Kadina; Damien Hynes - RSMU; Justin Schahinger - RSMU; Andrew Wright - Gawler Central; Todd Miles - Barossa District; and Aaron Killian - Moonta
