Have you ever received a Gift that the person who gave it to you was more excited about it than you because you didn't have a clue what it was? Sometimes we don't understand what a gift is all about?
2 Corinthinans 9:15 Thanks be to God for his indescribable gift!
My question is do we get what God's gift to us is all about. do we realise God's gift to us has our name on it and when God writes your name on the gift card there aren't smudges, or white outs because it was gifted to someone else first.
Heard this story where it had been a hard winter in the high country and the snow had piled deeper and deeper. The temperature dropped below zero and stayed there and the rivers had frozen over. People were suffering and the red cross used helicopters to fly in emergency supplies.
On one such mission after a long hard day, as they were returning to their base, the rescue team in a helicopter saw a cabin nearly submerged in the snow. A thin wisp of smoke came from the chimney. The rescue crew figured those people in that cabin were probably critically short of food, fuel, and medicine. Because of the trees they had to set down about a kilometre from the cabin. They put their heavy emergency equipment on their backs, trudged through waist deep snow, and reached the cabin exhausted, panting, and perspiring. They pounded on the door and a thin, elderly woman finally answered the door.
The leader of the team panted, "Excuse me, we're from the red cross. The woman was silent for a moment, and then she said, "it's been a hard-long winter, young fella. I just don't think we can give anything this year!"
Sometimes we aren't ready for what God has tried to do for us, what he has brought to us... and for us. God's gift is yours; you can open the door to it, or keep living and being who you are not knowing any difference. "WHAT A GIFT"
