SAVOY v ROWE PARK
Port Pirie Sports Precinct
STOP START SAVOY AGENDA
Savoy's coming Division 2 agenda will be quite disruptive as the Vincent DeGioia coached Green and Whites have no cup games. The mid-season break is approaching and that is followed by another cup weekend before knuckling down to some consistency.
Meanwhile, the first and current half of the season for Savoy has been difficult with the local amateur team playing just three games at home in the nine-fixture allotment.
Savoy will play their next four fixtures two at home and two away to complete the mid-season, however that quartet of games come in an eight-week period making it tough on teams with the this stop-start and unavoidable situation.

SAVOY DRAW IN NIGHT OVERTIME
Savoy for a second time this season has made a win result slip away but remains undefeated when it was forced to settle for a 1-1 draw at a cold and slippery Wilfred Taylor Reserve last Saturday night against Noarlunga United with the equalizing home goal coming in extended injury time that had the visitors fuming.
Back in round three in Savoy's opening home game at the sports precinct Savoy led West Beach 1-0 and could not stop their Adelaide opponents from scoring a late equalizer to share the points and against Noarlunga in difficult conditions it was a near replica fixture with Savoy's opponents down to 10 players and doing it hard.
After chatting to Noarlunga coach Lloyd Roberts after the weekend, his look on the night game was described being a fiery one with Savoy having two quicks and being the better team and that his left winger Luke Tollan equalized with the last kick of the game.
Reports about last Saturday night's round five encounter indicate Savoy scored at the 25th minute mark in a scrimmage type goalmouth goal that Kynan Crouch claimed to go 1-0 up after the home team had started well before the Vincent DeGioia coached team soon got on top to control the night game with some ease as the visitors dominated play but could not get a second goal.
And with the Green and Whites on top and holding a 1-0 lead at halftime the situation was enhanced further when Noarlunga striker Neil Ritchie was sent off at the 65th, however it was the definitive score line that no doubt kept the big sized Noarlunga outfit in the game albeit with Savoy making most of the offensive play that saw goals go begging.
Savoy had adopted quite well to the conditions in a contest that DeGioia could not play the in-form trio of Rhys Gillett, Fabian Balmer and Tate Brook where replacements like Ben Faulkner and Dan Murphy came into the starting 11 to play good games.
Meanwhile, it was John Librino that stood out most with Faulkner, Dominic Keain and AJ Sabimana, but the many misses and the inability to close off the contest came to rue Savoy in late injury time when Noarlunga managed to find the net through Luke Tollan and share the result to really disappoint the Green and Whites.
Savoy have dropped to second place after last Saturday's result and its second draw result while the only other team that is undefeated Para Hills East has moved to top spot.
"Apart from some four total late minutes of sloppy soccer coming in two separate games, both home and away, Savoy would have perfect results to show in the five game stretch in Division 2 right now." - Savoy coach, Vincent DeGioia.
Savoy - J.Librino, B.Faulkner, D.Keain, AJ.Sabimana. Noarlunga Utd - C.Bradley, J.Miller, L.Bandy.
Savoy - K.Crouch. Noarlunga Utd - L.Tollan.
Savoy Reserves lost last Saturday's early game at Wilfred Taylor Reserve 1-5 against Noarlunga United even though the Green and Whites opened the scoring to take a 1-0 lead, however the score line turned nasty for the visitors as the strong home team took control of the game and at halftime led 3-1.
Noarlunga scored another two unanswered goals to run out 5-1 winners and keep the Green and Whites winless this season.
