A 23-year-old unlicensed driver was arrested on Thursday night after allegedly attempting to avoid an RBT on Three Chain Road.
Before 8.30pm, police were conducting a driver testing site on Three Chain Road and allege that a grey Holden sedan approached the testing site, but conducted a u-turn prior to reaching the site.
Police attempted to stop the vehicle, yet the driver initially failed to stop. The male drive later pulled the car to the side of the road a short time later.
Police checks revealed the driver, a 23-year-old Port Pirie man, was unlicensed.
The man was drug tested and returned a positive test to methamphetamine. His sample will be sent to Forensic Science SA for further analysis.
The driver was charged with failing to comply with directions, drive unlicensed and driving contrary to defect. He was refused bail and will appear in the Port Pirie Magistrates Court on Friday, April 12.
