The Port Pirie Golf Club held their women's open day on Wednesday, the official kick off to their winter season.
The women player's met at the clubhouse to play a seven hold ambrose competition, which had been earlier prepared for them.
Captain of the women, Paula Sard says the day is open to all women and players; past, present and future.
"We have past members come today as well and we have a bit of a luncheon.
"It is the start of the winter season that runs through until September. We run competitions through the year and have a lot of open days travelling around to different places," She explained.
Paula recommends the sport to many, she explains that not only is there a fitness benefit but it is also a good excuse to socialise and get out and about.
"You get to travel around to different places, it is not just golf here in Pirie, it is meeting other people around the region as well."
