When war was declared men from all over Australia enlisted.  The five brothers in the Sjostrom family were no exception. All five bothers enlisted, the first on 7th January, 1915 and the youngest of the brothers on the 5th July,1916. The war which was to be over by Christmas was to see them away from the Family and Home for much longer than they could ever have imagined.  Unlike many other families in Australia all five would return to their sister Helen.
