ALDI’s Port Pirie supermarket officially opened its doors to the public at its Wandearah Road store.
Hordes of eager shoppers, almost 100 in total, waited for the international supermarket giant to start trading. Once inside, customers quickly perused the company’s extensive range of products and were quick to grab the weekly specials.
In a statement provided to The Recorder, an ALDI spokesperson said they were proud to call themselves “good different”.
“We offer a supermarket experience that is like no other in Australia, and it’s our differences that allow us to bring unbeatable value to our customers every day,” they said.
“We’re excited to be opening our new store in Port Pirie and look forward to showing local residents the difference ALDI can make to their wallets and lifestyles.”
ALDI Port Pirie features a number of recently introduced innovations that will offer an enhanced shopping experience for customers, with better product displays, improved navigation and a modern interior store design. New features include redesigned shelving, expanded wooden produce bays, as well as extended energy efficient chillers.
“While we’re delighted to be introducing these innovations, we want our customers to know they won’t lead to higher prices,” an ALDI Australia spokesperson said.
“Low prices are a big deal for ALDI. In fact, we refuse to be beaten on price. This is our fundamental point of difference and one we will never give away.”
ALDI Port Pirie will be supported by a team of 15-20 permanent full and part-time employees.
