There’s a hole in my bucket

Now I’ve got a question for you? And it’s not too difficult.

Have you ever stopped to think, what’s in your life bucket, because everyone has one?

Certain friends and people tell me, that they have these bucket lists, lists of things that they need to acquire, do, fulfil and have to put in their bucket, before they die.

And we seem to make this a pursuit in our lives, of trying to fill our life bucket with relationships, with events, with achievements, with places we’ve been, with people we’ve met etc.

Have you ever stopped to think, what’s in your life bucket, because everyone has one?

And then sadly, what also gets put in our bucket, are the not so good things, the sadness, the moments we want to forget, the challenges we’ve faced etc.

So is it all these things that we have filled our life bucket with, that somehow comes to define our lives.

SO, MY QUESTION TODAY TO YOU… IS SIMPLE IT’S THIS…. IS THE SUM OF YOUR LIFE WHAT’S IN YOUR BUCKET, IS THAT ALL IT IS?

Is the sum of one’s life… what we did, where we went, who we connected with etc.

Or is there more to us all? Because if that’s all there is…….

THEN THE PERSON WITH THE BIGGEST BUCKET WINS!

The sum of our lives isn’t be born, eat, live, work,- eat, live, work, party,- eat live work, worry die.

Listen to these words of someone else who was challenged by what life was about and he came to this conclusion. Ps 118:9 Maybe its not what the world tells me is important that I can put my confidence in. Have I learnt that I can trust in God?

What if we are trusting what we fill our life’s buckets with… to save us, maybe we will be mistaken, because, maybe whatever we fill our life bucket with, simply isn’t enough.

Maybe there’s a hole in your bucket!

So maybe it’s not what we can put in our bucket, maybe it’s what God wants to put in us, and bring us, is what we really need.
