A 29-year-old man from Kapunda will appear in court after police located stolen number plates in a vehicle at Port Pirie.
Police will allege that just before 1pm on Thursday September 13, a patrol stopped a Ford Falcon sedan on York Road for a mobile driver test.
Checks on the man’s licence revealed that he had never held a licence.
Police searched the car allegedly locating a hammer and stolen number plates that been used in a petrol theft.
The driver was arrested and charged with driving unlicensed, unlawful possession and making off without payment.
The man was granted bail and will appear in the Port Pirie Magistrates Court at a later date.
