Pirie man in court for murder charge

Matthew James Loleit, charged with the murder of 49-year-old man Rory ‘Meggs’ Elliott from Nuriootpa faced the Port Augusta Magistrates Court on Wednesday morning. 

Loleit, 39, was remanded in custody at Wednesday’s court appearance. 

The post mortem report has just been completed and there is still some outstanding material to be completed.

Loleit’s next appearance will be on Wednesday, October 3. 

Loleit was arrested on Thursday, Feburary 22, when police and paramedics were called to a camping ground at Telowie Beach, where they found the body of 49-year-old man Rory ‘Meggs’ Elliott.
