Two arrested for theft

A Port Pirie man and woman have been arrested after they allegedly stole a camping swag from a vehicle earlier this week. 

On Tuesday June 12, around 6.30 am a member of the public attended the Port Pirie police station reporting they had witnessed a theft of a camping swag from the rear of a ute parked in King Street. 

A police patrol was dispatched to the area, where they located a man and a woman walking on Main Road with the stolen sway. 

The 32-year-old man and 23-year-old woman were both arrested and charged with theft. 

They were also issued with an on the spot fine for the possession of cannabis and drug paraphernalia. 

The couple were both bailed to appear in the Port Pirie Magistrates Court on July 9.
