Giddy up for the 2018 Port Pirie Pacing Cup which is coming up fast.
Held at Phoenix Park on Saturday, March 25 the race will see prime racing horses and jockeys dash 2530 metres in a mobile start event.
A thousand people are expected to flock to the venue for one of the richest country cups in South Australia.
There is a total state money of $60,000 on offer with just under $15,000 up for grabs in the pacers cup, $10,000 in the Port Pirie derby and $8000 in the trotters cup.
Plenty of other entertainment will be on offer, including live music from Random Notes, pony races, performances by Hip Hop Bounce between races and a free jumping castle and face painting for the kids.
There will be a free raffle and other giveaways on the night.
Make the most of the evening with an upstairs viewing lounge with a bar and TAB plus a bookmaker, canteen, bar and TAB in the downstairs pavilion.

Secretary manager of the Port Pirie Horse Racing Club, Neville Thomson, is very excited about this weekend’s race.
“As far as harness racing goes this is the main event outside the metropolitan area,” he said.
“You get to see the best horses in the state, so come along and enjoy a great night of harness racing with plenty of entertainment between races.”
Gates open at 5.30pm with the first race at 6.50pm.
The last of the eight races will be held at 10.20pm.
