Last Friday night’s men and women Charity Cups that were to be played at the Parks Centre were both cancelled because of heat regulations.
The focus is now directly on the new NPL soccer season kicking off this weekend for both the Premier and State League 1 teams.
The two big games on offer will be the Metro Stars game against Adelaide City and the clash between West Adelaide Hellas and Adelaide Olympic played this Friday night.
In State League 1 soccer all eyes will be on Seaford Rangers who travel to Marden for its opening fixture against relegated and multi trophy winner Adelaide Blue Eagles who last season were surprisingly dumped out of the Premier League along with Cumberland United.
The Seaford game as well as Fulham United’s, which also was promoted, will be another of interest when the former third division and once amateur team takes on Noarlunga United where ironically it was these two new achieving State League 1 teams that stopped the Northern Demons getting to the next level in FFSA soccer last season.
State League 1
Adelaide Blue Eagles v Seaford Rangers
Noarlunga United v Fulham United
Metro Stars v Adelaide City
West Adelaide v Adelaide Olympic
