Car and crop ablaze in accident

A 75 year old man is being treated for back pain and another person is being treated for minor injuries after two cars collided on the corner of the Goyder Highway and the Augusta Highway just before 11 am on Thursday morning. 

A dark green jeep, remained on the highway, whilst the other car caught ablaze in a nearby paddock, resulting in a crop fire.  

Traffic was built up in both directions of the highway, with police diverting traffic to a single lane around the accident.

The CFS responded with 4 appliances with 23 fire fighters to extinguish the blaze with police and two ambulances also attending the scene. 

Both patients are being treated at the Port Pirie Hospital.
