The Australian Breastfeeding Association continues to offer support and advice to local mothers.

The Australian Breastfeeding Association Mid North group meet with their children to provide support and compassionate advice to mothers. The meetings are usually held in Crystal Brook or Port Pirie on the fourth Thursday of each month from 10am to 11.30am.

At the most recent meeting on July 6, the group of 10-20 women with their bundles of joy, discussed some of their unsuccessful breastfeeding attempts. The discussion centered around the reasons that it may not have worked out and ways to prepare so that their future attempts had happier results.

Many of the mums shared that though they experienced enormous difficulties whilst first breastfeeding their child, access to the right information and support resulted in a far more positive response the following times.

The next group meeting, at which a guest speaker will attend, will be held on Thursday, August 10 at 10:00am, at Port Pirie West Children's Centre on First Street.
