Tennis is the flavor of the month in Australia at the present time and local players will be eager to return to the courts tomorrow night.
After a five-week break, it will feel a bit like starting a new season, and there are sure to be some rusty skills on display.
It will be interesting to see the make-up of several teams this week, given that it is still school holidays and there is the possibility of several players missing in action.
Tennis4Men will have another two weeks off tennis and resume play on February 3.
Teams playing at the tennis centre will therefore have access to more courts, which will allow for an early finish.
Railway Pennant (A grade) and Railway Gold (club doubles division one) have been scheduled with a bye in round 10, so can rest up for another week before getting back on court.
Wandearah plays at its home courts in A grade this week against Napperby, which will start favorites.
However it won’t be an easy task for Napperby as Wandearah has already proven it is very capable of winning, having beaten last season’s A grade premiers Uniting in round six.
A likely highlight could well be the singles set between Katelyn Mudge (Napperby) and Kimberly Schuller (Wandearah).
