Musician Dom Lobasso is losing his amazing head of hair.
He will have his head shaved as part of The Leukaemia Foundation World’s Greatest Shave, raising money for the organisation to fund free services to support patients and families living with leukaemia, lymphoma, myeloma and related blood disorders.
Mr Lobasso has been growing his black, healthy hair, which is 66cm long, for 15 years, fitting the image of a heavy metal rock
musician.
When he performs with his band in Adelaide at the weekend, it will be for the last time with his trademark long hair and he will take to the stage for his next gig with a vastly different look.
Mr Lobasso was thinking it was time to shed his locks, which need 15 minutes of hair- care each day, and decided he would throw his name into the hat for a good cause.
“I then felt a bit tentative after opening my big mouth,” he said.
But he was mindful of those who have
suffered leukaemia and knew that most
people have in some way been touched by
cancer.
With great confidence, Mr Lobasso has given the job of the big shave to Abby Couzner who will perform this duty at the home of her parents, Carolyn and Peter Couzner.
