Krahnert umpires first A grade game
01 Feb 12 | Richard Krahnert umpired his first A grade game of cricket on Sunday, for the game between Props and Wandearah. Krahnert initially took up umpiring “seven or eight years” ago, as a way for giving something back to the sport he had played.
Softballers return to regular program
01 Feb 12 | After the week off for most softballer players round 15 hits with a vengeance this week. The association welcomes back junior grades after their extended break.
01 Feb 12 | Young Port Pirie tennis player Anthony Oliphant won the singles trophy in the 12 and under boys at the recent Country Carnival at Memorial Drive. He was also a part of the 12 and under boys’ team which won the team’s event.
30 Jan 12 | Wandearah B grade men had to call in a few favours from past players as normal B grade players stepped up into A grade to help cover absences. Damien Freer played his second match and Michael Crouch returned after quite a few years absence in this division.
30 Jan 12 | Port Pirie’s Emily Condon took out the most valuable player trophy for her age group at the recent Football Federation of Australian Futsal Championships. Emily, 13, only started playing futsal in October and was selected to play at the championships in December.
30 Jan 12 | Port Pirie and District Junior Tennis has had an outstanding two months. The top run started with winning the inter-association match against Barossa 36 sets 358 games to 33 sets 313 games.
