Pearl Sloan’s father, the late William Hards, was a soldier in World War I and recipient of the Military Medal, British War Medal, Victory Medal and 1914-15 Star.

14 May 12 | The Solomontown Cats made it three out of three with a good win over arch rival Port at Memorial Oval on Mother’s Day. In front of the biggest crowd to date this season, the Cats came from15 points down at three quarter time to claw their way to an eight-point win.
Demons face toughest test against top side The Cove
09 May 12 | The Northern Demons will play top team Cove on Saturday, in a much anticipated clash agains the top side. They will have to travel all the way to Hallett Cove for the match against the undefeated team.
Panthers to take on State team
09 May 12 | The highlight of round four of hockey competition will be tomorrow night’s turf match at 8pm between Park Royal Panthers and the South Australian State 45’s men’s hockey team.
Rivals meet for huge clash
09 May 12 | A highly anticipated clash between old rivals Ports and Sollies will be the highlight of round three SGL action on Sunday. Both sides impressed last week with solid wins against the Lions and Central respectively but as always that will count for little when they go head to head on Sunday.
07 May 12 | Friday night saw netball’s first foray into the upgraded John Pirie Stadium with games in H grade followed by A Reserve and then 2 A Grade matches.
