John Caputo is on top of the world after being chosen as one of the best salesmen in Australia.
He and one other representative were named by a snack food company as its leading salesmen in Australia and New Zealand.
As a reward, he and his wife Simone are packing for a trip of a lifetime to New York in June.
He received the Ring of Honour Award, created to recognise front-line sales performers from around the world.
“This is the highest award for sales professionals and recognises the organisation’s best frontline sales performers globally,” Mr Caputo said.
Last year, he was among the 22 nominated employees.
This year, he was once again nominated along with other 16 others.
“Less than a quarter of one percent actually win this prestige award. Just being nominated is a huge achievement,” he said.
“I was surprised to be nominated, but never thought I would win. The good thing about this award is that you are only judged on what you can do. It is proportional to the area you cover.
“I travelled 100,000km just last year visiting my clients. I see them every fortnight and I think that this personal contact makes a difference and it also translate in more selling opportunities.”
Mr Caputo’s win came as no surprise to his boss, Bernie Murray.
“One hopes that John’s win will inspire other people to work hard, enjoy what they do and stretch themselves to become better people and happy in life,” he said.
