New playground equipment will be noticed

Napperby residents are happy with a playground upgrade and new community notice board for the town.

The two new playground pieces cost $3000 and were given the “thumbs-up” by the children.

The money came from the Port Pirie District Development Board.

“Our aim is to promote and support the communities we cover, which include Napperby, Nelshaby, Wandearah, Warnertown and Nurom,” said board chairman Paul Collins.

“For the playground upgrade we used our own funds. We also do fundraisers and receive support from Port Pirie Regional Council.

“We keep in touch with the community members and council and other different organisations.”

Napperby also got a community notice board for the first time.

“This notice board is in a central location, next to the playground. It is free and for the use of the community,” he said.

The group takes suggestions from the residents of the communities and addresses them at the council meetings.

Residents of these communities are encouraged to be part of the group and make themselves heard.
