More spy cameras coming

The gaze of Big Brother will soon be intensified following a Port Pirie Regional Council decision to set aside about $50,000 to boost security camera operations.

The cameras, including those at Memorial Park, the boat ramp, Ellen Street and at the beach, are monitored by police.

One of the first priorities is to crackdown on littering at the boat ramp – and the cameras could be used to spot offenders.
