Nyrstar smelter’s most loyal workers will be recognised this week.

The 41 employees will be rewarded with long service awards at the Port Pirie City Soccer Club on Friday night.

The awards are for Jan-uary-December last year.

General manager Glenn Poynter will attend the event and looks forward to celebrating the important achievements of his team.

“These employees are the foundation to our success as an organisation and I regard it as important to recognise their dedication and loyalty,” he said.

“I would like to thank all of our employees receiving long service awards this year – their clearly-demonstrated commitment to the business is very much appreciated.”

Of the recipients, two will be recognised for their 45 years with the company – Doug Nunan and Jeffrey Scarman, pictured.

John Quin, John Scarman, Les Northcott, Ronald Casey, Allan Paine, Tony Connole and Jim Gray will receive 40-year long-service awards.

Recipients of 25-year awards are Paul Dibbens, John Saracino, Andrew Thom-son, Neil Edwards, Darian Hayes, Steve Nicholson, Len Smith, Darren Baldwin, Dale Afford, Gavin Leue, Kym Arbon and Gary Loleit.

Along with being honoured for their 25 years, Mark Cousins, David Scarman, Paul Laube, Glen Bernhardt, Mark Pearce and Dennis Buchanan will also be given special awards for their emphasis on safety during their time.

For 10 years with the company, Nyrstar is recognising Carl Rohrsheim, Christian Good, Wayne Brodie, Sebast-ian Caputo, Steven Roberts, Jason Holman, Derek Ben-nier, Christopher Lee, Danny Champion Craig Dodd, Gary Norton, Margaret Schapel, Gerhard Davis and Jeffrey Lowe.
