In an unique set of coincidences 13 staff from the Woolworths supermarket became pregnant within nine months of each other.
In The Recorder of September 11 last year, we reported that 11 of the staff were pregnant.
Two more pregnancies were confirmed soon after.
What is more extraordinary is that four of the baby’s fathers are also employed at the store.
Now the babies have been born and are going to be great playmates for each other at staff Christmas parties. Store manager Adrian Benz and partner Nicole Riches who had a daughter Savannah said it was a great talking point among the four fathers.
Second-in-charge of fruit and veg Matthew Cox and wife Natasha
welcomed baby Kaelem, store trading manager Jarrod May and wife Vanessa have their bundle of joy Larissa and butcher Chris Langsford and Sarah have newborn Zahli.
Natasha Cox was first to have her baby – Kaelem is now 8½ months old – and the youngest babies are Rebecca Taylor’s daughter Allie and Annette Mudge’s son Marcus who were born on the same day, May 27.
The new mothers and mothers- to-be kept in touch during their pregnancies and shared ideas and tips.
As the new mums and dads were excitedly talking about their newest additions at a recent gathering, new mother Sonya Brown suggested that Woollies should open a day care centre.
